Make an Impact by Sorting Trash
Currently, 70 percent of Keystone dorm students bag all trash together. From an experiment, trashes which are thrown in the recyclable bins and trashes which are thrown in unrecyclable bins ends up in the same place. It is extremely hard for cleaners to sort the trash inside of the trash bags.
Trash sorting significantly boosts recycling by keeping materials clean and valuable, conserving natural resources and energy. It drastically reduces landfill waste, curbing harmful methane emissions and soil/water contamination. Separating organic waste enables composting, enriching soil, and creating renewable energy. Hazardous items are safely managed, protecting health. Economically, sorting lowers disposal costs, creates recycling jobs, and fuels the circular economy. Overall, it promotes sustainability and environmental responsibility.
Students Need To Be Aware Of Sorting Trash
We should not leave all of the trash-sorting duties to the Ayi. The awareness of the status of trash sorting is very low since the general distribution of the data points is generally lower than 3, which means trash sorting did not raise enough awareness for everyone to participate.
